The British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive
Psychotherapies (BABCP)is a multi-disciplinary interest
group for people involved in the practice and theory of
behavioural and cognitive psychotherapy.
BACP is playing an important part in talks with
the government over future state-regulation of counsellors
and psychotherapists. The NHS and your GP may well recommend
therapists on BACP lists if they do not have in-house
counsellors.
Look for an ACCREDITED member MBACP Accred rather than
just a member - MBACP
UKCP is a
well-recognised organisation, whose members are
psychotherapists with good qualifications and code of
ethics. UKCP are recognised by the likes of NHS and
private-health companies such as BUPA.
